WAAAAA!!!!

Why doesn't life come with a package of EXTRA hours here and there? There's so much to do these days, and time is just never enough to get it all done! I guess that's my super power, if I was a super hero. A couple of hours here and there. That would be mighty convenient. BUT, since I don't have such power, I'll just have to learn to live without sweating the small stuff. I'm still working on that. This weekend we had Meghan's b-day, and Coco was so happy to go out and play with her cousin. They are growing to be good friends, and love each other dearly. Next weekend, Meghan will sleep over, and they both are just sooo excited, they can hardly wait.Of course, as we were at the party, it started pouring, and before anyone could realize it, the kids were runnin rampant on the back yard. They were totally soaked, but thankfully, I had a dress in the car that I had just bought for Coco, so she could change into that. They were having so much fun, I couldn't

Summer come soon!

The weather is actually pretty crazy around here. Saturday we had an awsome day, and then Sunday we were freezing, yet again. On Saturday Coco and I went to see Jake at his soccer game. Just too cute to see all these kids chasing the ball. Nicole tried to pay attention, but mostly she played with Leah, Jake's sister. On Sunday, we had to get Nicole ready for her ballet recital picture. So, I read the instructions, and I start panicking. she needs to have her hair in a low ballet bun . WHAT??? WHAAAAT? Aren't buns the ones that you eat with a hotdog, ketchup and mustard??? Darn! Here I go to the internet. The art of ballet buns , reads an article. WHAT? I don't have time to learn an art, I just need to get my daughter ready! I was really getting very antsy, since I cannot make a decent pony tail to save my life. What are we going to do??? The instructions on the internet seem pretty simple, but I don't know... Anyways, I ran to Walgreens to get a couple of hair pins, hai

One of those days... with a Twist :)

Today was one of those days I REALLY wish I stayed in bed. The day started with a terrible headache because of the #$*%@&#$*%&2" allergies. I feel my forehead, my eyes, my nose stuffed, this is just as painful as it gets. Plus, I've had post-nasal dripping all night long, which really upsets my stomach. I don't know if Connor is resenting the change of routine with Brian gone so early, but he, my sweet little baby that was always all smiles, is a horribible screaming little stranger that won't stop screaming unless I hold him in my arms. And it's kind of difficult to do Coco's hair as it is, let alone holding a wiggly toddler in my arms. Started the work day, same old, same old. Then, a call. "Where's the Turkish interpreter I requested?" Where indeed? She's already 10 minutes late, so I call her, and before she answers, I start getting that feeling in my tummy. "I'm home... what do you mean when am I getting there? You didn&#

happy {belated} mother's day!

I've been watching that commercial on tv by Suave , the one that says that 80% od moms admit they have let themselves "go". On Mother's day, I realized I have as well! I woke up early, took a nice shower, put on ALL my lotions and creams, put on MAKEUP (what is that????), and even got my earrings and necklace on... I ALMOST felt human!!! Brian's family (all 16 of us) went to brunch to the Mill Race in Geneva, which is a very nice place, and then came home to scrap a little. I thought I left my camera at home, but I really just had it buried in Connor's diaper bag, so there are not so many pictures of that. But in the morning, Nicole and Cesar gave me my presents (they worked on these very late into the night on Saturday!), they were priceless. And of course, Brian heard me ONCE mention taht I'd like the Walk in my Garden cartridge for my Cricut (that was like two months ago!), and what do I get? Well, my cartridge, of course! You'd think he really LIST

The COOTIES!

This weekend I had the intention of participating in all these "virtual" crops, since I wanted to get lots of scrappin' going. I love to do challenges and sketches, so I really was looking forward to that. BUT Nicole woke us up on Saturday morning, around 4, with a bad fever and pain in her throat. At first we thought it was just a cold, but the pain in the throat was getting worse, and then she started having fever and pain in her tummy. She spent most of her time in bed, and I with her, cuddling, or scrappin. On Sunday, Brian decided to go and get the Wii, since it was available at Best Buy for a very good price, and they had a great time trying to learn how to use it. But yesterday Cesar and I started with throat pain too, and since Coco's pain didn't go away, we had to go to the doctor's office. And yes, they have the cooties. So do I. So, here we are at home, trying to make the best of it. Only Brian didn't get it, at least not yet. Let's see if h

Entrepreneurial Spirit

Yesterday, Nicole and Jakeroo wanted to set up a Water Stand. Of course, there is barely any pedestrian traffic around here, but they insisted on having their stand, so they could earn money to buy a little swimming pool for the summer. Why wouldn't they just ask for it is beyond my comprehension, but anyways... I helped them set up a "Stand", with some fresh water (no time to make lemonade!) and a little box for "all the money", and they wrote with chalk on the driveway WATRSTAND. but not many people were going through. So, there go Nicole & Jake, yelling out: "Would you like some water?" One of the neighbors says, "yes, I think I would", and walks over, as I am sitting in my little office, watching. Nicole goes ahead, serves the water, and this guy asks her, how much do I owe you? And Nicole answers with this big smile, THAT'LL BE $5 and 3 pennies! This guy almost choked, he was laughing so hard! It was just so funny! I had to yell

What do you think?

Would you please give me your honest opinion about this? I can't remember in which magazine or website did I see this, but I wanted to try it. It's a picture of Connor (which I altered a little bit, you can see the original on the last post) that I printed on tissue paper, then melted onto a pilar candle with an embossing heating gun. I want to make the center pieces for Connor's baptism, and these would sit in a glass container, with sand and sea "rocks" on the bottom... this is the altered picture: and then, this is what it looks like on the candle: So, what do you think? Your input will be greately appreciated...
