this stinking weather...

Yesterday when we got ready for school and daycare, it was pretty chilly. The forecast said it would get better, but I've heard that one before... so Coco and Connor were wearing the long pants and sweaters. In the evening, we had such good weather, Coco was not happy with her long pants. They played with our neighbor Collin most of the evening. So, this morning, Coco refused to wear long pants. The result? All parents dropping off their kids must have thought I am a VERY bad and irresponsible mother. She was freezing, although she wouldn't admit to it. In my defense, I have to say that in solidarity, I wasn't wearing a sweater, only short sleeves. That way I don't look so bad, just plain coo-coo in the head (what else is new...) Now, you may think Coco's hair got undone with all the air and the running. But truth is, i don't think Coco has let me brush her hair in the past 4 years. Especially not before school. I also have to say that in solidarity, I did

Last week, we celebrated our nephew Gus' b-day. We went to eat at Giordano's, a pizza place very famous here in Chciago (they have the BEST pizza!!!) I was able to take some pictures of the kids in the car and the restaurant... Now, somebody should teach this kid some lessons... Believe it or not, this was his best poker face as he was flirting with a beutiful blonde little girl sitting at the table next to ours! It was really funny to see him try not to look like he was flirting. I love my baby boy! Happy B-day again, Gus! This is part of the group of neighbor girls that started playing Bunco last week. Next month I'm hosting! I hope I make it as fun as Maria did! I thought a class at ScrapAddict this weekend. As I walked in the store, the first thing I saw, was the layout I finished on NSD... That was just SOOO COOL!!! I also saw a couple of layouts that I made for a class coming up in June. It was just neat to see my stuff being used at the entrance :) My class was prob

It's been a long couple of weeks around this house again. Thank you all for your prayers and your good wishes. My Abuelita passed away on Thursday, April 17, so I hopped on the next plane and arrived on Friday for the funeral. Mass was said at this beautiful church: It's called Iglesia del Carmen, and it was built between 1802 and 1807 by a famous Mexican architect, Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras. This is in Celaya, Guanajuato , where my grandparents lived when they returned to Mexico from Chicago in 1973. These are my maternal grandparents, Luis and Teresa. Grandpa Luis (I used to call him Grandpa Duck. Can't remember why I started calling him that!) passed away 8 days before Connor was born, so I was not able to go say good bye. He was an extraordinary man. Brian reminds me of my grandpa very, very much. Same silly sense of humor, same kindness of heart. Most of my dad's sisters went to be with mom (six of the nine sisters are shown in this picture, the rest are cousin
