Our new patio is ALMOST here!!!!


Yesterday these guys that Brian hired came to start the patio in our back yard. Brian has been wanting this for sooo long, I'm excited for him... And I'm excited myself! I've been DYING to get a table and chairs and sit there while I see the kids play in the backyard. Now, our backyard is sooo small, I'm surprised there is room for a patio and the swing set. Brian SWEARS he will plant a garden, too, but I just don't see where. Besides, the kids and Digger (whom REALLY honors his name) will destroy it before it has a chance to germinate.

We'll see. Tomorrow they come to pour in the concrete, which will be tinted with a terra-cota color. Brian will have such a nice surprise when he comes back!!!

Connor's sick again. Can't believe it! We went to the Dr's office last Friday for an ear infection, now he has a highly contagious virus that is really harmless, but makes his skin look like he has chicken pox or something like that. SO, there goes my plan to scrap all weekend since I'm single until Sunday! Well, I'll try to scrap in between naps, I guess.

I really want to get to my DT new kit. I've discovered that, the hardest thing about being in a design team is NOT TELLING AND SHOWING your new stuff to anyone!!!! I'm DYING for it to be up on the board and be able to show it here!!! I finished cleaning my scrappin area (the pictures are from BEFORE cleanning... think I've NEVER had this area SOOOOO badly messed!!!), so... I'm off to scrap, before Connor wakes up for his midnight snackeroo!

How funny! We're also getting a patio put in! It wont be for another week or 2 but we had the measurements done and I'm just READY!! I can't wait to see the finished patio when you post pictures! I promise to do the same!

it is hard not to post the layouts or talk about the new kits when we have them before everyone else. we can post later this week. very exciting. i created a couple pages today!!

I can't wait to see the finished patio...shoulnd't it be done by now?? I LOVE that you're getting it tinted...how COOL!!! I can't wait to come over and enjoy it, kicking back with a MARGARITA!!!

Still ALIVE...

... but swamped with fabrics and paint. It's kind of funny, I ordered some fabric online from Joann, and then when it arrived, I really didn't like it. See, I'm making new curtains for the back door (it's one of those sliding doors and we used to have blinds there), new pillow covers (because we got new slipcovers for the couches) and I'm re-upholstering the dinning room chairs. And so, I ordered different fabrics that I thought would match. Very orangy-yellowish, those are the colors we chose for staging the house. Anyways, when I saw the fabric, I was very tempted to return it, but instead, I started the first chair today... And I think it looks AWESOME!!! I just finished cutting all the fabric for the back of the chairs, tomorrow I'll be busy sewing. Can't wait to see the first one finished. I'm actually getting EXCITED! Happy birthday, USA!!!

We will be having a totally lazy 4 th of July. Brian just came back from his trip last night, and I think he must be needing a lot of rest. He's loving his new job, but since he really is very good at "fixing" accounts, every time he fixes one and he's starting to enjoy the fruits of his work, another one gets "broken", so he has to go in and fix that one as well. It's nice that he gets such a good reputation in his industry, and it's great that he gets to know so many new people, because it's always good to have such a network of contacts, but it's really exhausting. Anyways, a few days ago I went to buy a watermelon, because we all are fans (big time!). We come home, our mouths watering, and we open it to this... WHAT??? Cesar was brave enough to try it, but I just cannot bring myself to eat some yellow watermelon flesh. It does taste the same, but I just couldn't have more than a bite or two. A few weeks ago, after work, I heard Brian scolding Cesar. (If you don't know it, Brian and I work from home, so my office is just a few steps from the kitchen, so i can hear pretty well) He was starting to sound VERY unhappy, especially because Cesar wouldn't own up to his mistake. OUCH! So, here I come into the kitchen and start listening in: BRIAN: "What do you mean you didn't take them? Are you hording them? Did you hide them?"
